Teens charged in Cartersville car break-ins

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. -- Two Cartersville teenagers have been arrested for their part in a theft ring in Bartow County.

Investigators believe 18-year-old Jaquez Cole and 19-year-old Malik Goggins stole items from unlocked cars throughout Cartersville. Thefts were reported in the area of South Bartow Street and Georgia Boulevard, and in numerous subdivisions, including Eagle Glen, High Point, Liberty Square and Timberlake Cove.

Cole faces 17 counts of entering auto, and has also been charged in connection with three stolen cars and two instances of theft by receiving.

Goggins was charged with 15 counts of entering auto and is being investigated in connection with three stolen cars.

"We will continue to diligently pursue these cases and hope to make additional arrests in the near future," Cartersville Police Chief Thomas Culpepper said in a statement.
